Just Because

I am sorry to say that I feel my ped egg picture has been on my blog far too long so it is time to post something, anything to get this picture to continue on down the page and be lost in the shuffle of blog posts. I have been busy with family coming to visit and have not had a chance to blog anything. Well, I will put a few pictures on the post and that should move the ped egg down a bit. We had a baby shower for Christy on Saturday and we had a wonderful turn out. Christy received many beautiful things and is really ready for the baby to arrive. We will be moving them into the house this weekend and so we have a lot ahead of us. Josh and Alexis have arrived for a summer visit and will be here until the 29th. We are planning a trip to six flags this Friday and the weather has been fantastic so far!! Well, so much for my idle chatter, enjoy the pics.

Here are the busy workers who put the shower together!! Alexis, me and Maureen!
Can't help but give Ava a little kiss!!
This is the beautiful blanket that Charlene made for Ava!! A lot of work and love put into this beautiful blanket.

It REALLY Works!

Don't laugh but this little thing really works. You may be asking yourself what the heck is this thing??? Well, I saw this advertised on TV a little while ago and thought hmmmm I might be able to use that little thing and then while in WalMart I saw them by the checkout counter ( I know you should never impulse buy) but I thought I would give it a go!! This may be an old lady thing but I get dry hard heels on my feet and this little foot grater really works great on them! I now have smooth heels and love it. I think my feet get really dried out from the pool and so this is really making a difference!!
This is the part that you rub on your heels and I know it looks like it would hurt but it doesn't. I should be on the infomercial for these things!! No more scratchy feet (Yeah!) Go Ped Egg!! Thanks Jan for talking me into getting one.

Jan and Dan were visiting us this weekend and we just loved having them come and relax at our home. They are so much fun and can't wait to see them again. Maybe we will make another trip to the Oregon side and see you soon!!

2 days in Tahoe

Sid and I had a chance to go up to Tahoe and stay at the timeshare for a couple of days. The weather was perfect and we were glad to get out of the heat and smoke filled air of Loomis. Sid wanted to go on a hike and I was a good sport and said I would go with him. He promised me it would be a 3 mile hike and I told him that would be great. Well, you know that 3 mile hike ended up to be more than 6 miles and I was not such a happy camper after that. We were on the Pacific Coast Trail and hiked to Reymonds meadow so Sid could scope for deer. We didn't see a thing! The lakes and forest were pretty with the wildflowers but that was about all we saw. We did see a lot of hikers that had been on the trail since april and were hiking from Mexico to Canada! I guess I should not complain about 6+ miles!!
Sid in the wildflowers!! He wanted me to lay in the flowers but I was not going to get all dirty to do it!!
After we hiked we stopped and fished in the stream near Markleyville (sp?) The fish were not biting like before and we only caught 1 fish.
Sid was thrilled to get a bite and reel him in.
You know how much Sid hates tree huggers so I could not resist!! This was at the beginning of the hike! I still have a smile on my face. The next day we went fishing at Burnside lake and didn't have much luck. I caught 2 fish with power bait and let them go and Sid used a lure and then some worms with power bait and only landed a little fish that we let go. The fish were jumping all around us but wouldn't take the bait. We fished until about 4pm and then headed home. It was hard to come home to 110 degree heat and the smoke so thick you can hardly breathe.

Fourth of July Fun

We went up to Grandpa Kelly's house for the 4th and had fun with some relatives who joined in. We had Calvin and Joanne, Ryan & Jen and their cute 3 girls, Clinton without Marga who stayed home to nurse a dog who got bit, and then Mike and Christy. We had a fun time bar-b-queuing and then swimming in the pool. Brought back a lot of fun memories and we had a fun time sitting around talking about some of them. Grandpa's chickens are getting much bigger and love to eat left over watermelon rinds!! They also like to peck you hard if you put your finger in the fence!! Looks like Grandpa has about 5 roosters so Ron or Sid will have to help him get rid of them. They need to get a little more fat before they give them the chop! The tomatoes were HUGE and tons of them getting ripe and ready to pick. The weather was perfect and we just had a really good time!! Check out Mike's post for some pictures and I think Jen took some pictures too.
