We had "SNOW" much fun in Colorado!

As you can see there was plenty of snow to go around!! It snowed on Christmas day but we ventured out to go to the movies that night and took the kids to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. Pretty cheesy but cute! The next day the boys shoveled the driveway and then We took Kandis and Nic to Macy's to find warm coats to wear back to Utah! They had to cut the trip short and drive home that afternoon in between storms. They made it home with no problems of snow trouble and Nic made it back to report to work on Friday. Wednesday afternoon we drove to Denver to the Outdoor world and the boys took the little boys into the store and Stacie and I went to Macy's which was in the same shopping mall and we did some shopping for her! We found a lot of really cute stuff and got some great bargains. That night it we played guitar hero all night and then it started snowing hard most of the night and the next day. The boys shoveled the driveway again and then we stayed inside the rest of the day. Friday was sunny and still really cold but the kids wanted to go sledding. We bundled everyone up and off we went to find the big hills. It was great fun watching Brayden and Andrew have fun in the snow. The best part was watching Sid and Matt eat it big time when trying to stand up on the sleds and go down the hills. I am sure Matt will share his video of that one on his blog spot!! We got up early the next morning (Sat) and left for the airport. No more snow but the temp was -2 degrees!! When we returned to California the temp of 35 seemed down right hot!! Thanks Stacie and Matt for such a great time! We will have to do it again.

Signs of Christmas in California

Sorry

I can't believe it has been almost a month since I wrote anything on this blog. I am waiting until Friday to take a picture of my hair since I have a hair appointment with Beth on Thursday!! I am so glad she can see again and will be doing my hair again. I loved getting my hair done in Utah when I visited Kandis but I can't see me flying out to Utah every 5 weeks to get my roots touched up!! Sid and I will be leaving for Colorado on Saturday and hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will land in SLC and then Denver. We will share Christmas with Matt and Stacie and the boys. It will be so much fun to see the boys on Christmas morning. I haven't put up many decorations since we will be leaving so it doesn't seem so festive without the kids fighting over opening the advent calander! The Wheelers parents will be staying at our home while we are gone since their house isn't done yet and they had to move out of their house in the Bay area.

We moved Rusty out in the 1/2 acre and he isn't quite sure if he likes it yet. The first time we put him in the lot he escaped and when we returned from the Temple he was out and running around the outside of the house. We put him back in and he escaped out again. We then moved his kennel into the lot and lock him in the kennel when we are gone. He seems to have stopped escaping since the kennel is on that side of the fence!! We let him in the house the other night when we had a warm fire in the fireplace and he tried to climb on my lap on the couch. He is such a cuddler and thinks he is a lap dog!! I told Sid that is not going to happen again. He is an OUTSIDE dog!!

We tried a new buffet the other night with Christy and Mike and it was really good. It is called the Eastern Buffet and is by the new Nugget Market off of Pleasant Grove. We had a coupon so we tried it out. They have all the good stuff like fresh made sushi, crab legs, chinese food, plus prime rib etc. Really good and fresh stuff!! We all enjoyed it and got our monies worth. It was very reasonable for fresh crab legs and shrimp! We'll have to go back next time someone comes to visit.

We are waiting to hear if Jacob and Julia will be moving in a couple of weeks. They put an offer on a new Townhome and are in the process of waiting to hear when they can move. It is a beautiful new place and I am sure they will be posting pictures soon on their blog. Everything has happened so fast that they haven't had time to post pictures. It should be completed in the next couple of weeks weather permitting. We are excited for them and know they will love having more than 1 bathroom. In fact this place has 4 bathrooms!! 2 full and 2 half. They can each have one now!!!

Well, today is temple day for me and I just love going to the Temple and working. They have put a beautiful Nativity out on the front lawn of the temple and it is huge. Solid white and very simple. Just Mary & Joseph with the baby Jesus and 1 sheep and 1 donkey. It is such a wonderful reminder of the Saviors birth and how simple it really was. I am so blessed to be able to work in the temple and feel the spirit so strong when administering the ordinances that we are blessed to do. I know the Lord loves each of us and wants us to do our best to return to Him. We are truly blessed to have a temple so close to our home. Families really are forever and we are so grateful that our children are active in the church and honor their covenants they have made. We truly are a blessed family.

Well, I will honestly try and get a picture on this blog on Friday so Alexis better expect me to call her and walk me through this process!!

Thanksgiving Alone

How weird is it to be alone with your husband on Thanksgiving. I guess not too weird since we saw a bazillion OLD people at Mimi's eating Thanksgiving dinner with us!! We toyed with the idea of going to Reno and eating at the Atlantis buffett but since Sid was just there last weekend while he was checking out the new Cabelas store we decided to stay at home and find a good resturaunt to eat at. As we sat waiting for our table we both noticed we were probably the youngest people in the place!! I think they dropped off the bus from the retirement home or something!! The food was great and we had plenty of leftovers to take home and eat the next day. (Mike actually ate my leftovers!) It was really very relaxing to just let someone else do all the cooking and clean up but I still missed my kids!! There is something about the noise and smells or the cooking food that is part of the holidays. I am glad some of you had a chance to gather with family and friends and enjoy the day. I should have taken a picture of us in front of Mimis but I forgot my camera. I know you are all still wondering what my hair looks like. Well, everyone but Kandis who saw it when it was cut and colored!! I will post a picture soon. I will probably have to call Alexis and figure this one out again.

I've Been Tagged!

Hmmmm... What to write about me that you might not know.

1. I won a tap dancing contest when I was 6 years old and the prize was a trophy and 24 space burgers from A&W! A space burger you ask? What might that be? Well, I think it was the worlds first attempt at a pita pocket kind of hamburger. They took two pieces of bread and put ground beef and other fixn's in it and crimped the edges in a circle to look like a little flying saucer! Weird huh? They were pretty good but with a family of 7 we downed them quickly.

2. I don't like to ride in fast boats. I get scared of the speed and the not being in control of flying over wakes. When Sid asks me to drive the boat I am really sacared I am going to crash the boat upside down and flip all the passengers out. I know, I am weird. I grew up in Oregon and we didn't have a boat for me to get used to these things. Blame it on my parents O.K.!

3. I have a real obsession with buying clothes for my kids and grandkids, husband etc. I love seeing them in new outfits and looking really up to date and cool! My mom loved to make me clothes and dressed really nice and I think that is where I got it from. My girls are quite the fashionistas and I guess I am to blame for that. I don't need to spend a lot of money, I just enjoy looking good! In fact the better the bargain the better I feel.

4. I hate it when a husband says, "You want me to babysit the kids while you go out?" Where do they get off saying babysitting when they are their own children. Just let me at them so I can whack them up side of their head and give them something to really cry about.

5. I have a secret desire to become a real estate agent. I don't know why I would even consider this profession at this time in my life and especially when the real estate market is so bad at this time but I love looking at houses and finding good deals and making people happy! I would love to specialize in first time home buyers and find creative ways to get them into the real estate market. I believe everyone should be able to afford their own home some day. I just love my current house and find house hunting exciting.

6. I love old people. Some people might consider me OLD but they better never say it to my face!!!! It is such a joy talking to them and listening to their wise council and advice. When I work at the temple on Tuesday nights there is a sweet lady that comes every Tuesday and she is 90 years old. I think what a great example she is to her posterity and hope that I can endure to the end like she is. You go girl.

Well, that is about it for now. I am sure you feel like you all know me so much better now. I will add some more tidbits as the feeling hits me!

Back in California

We made it back to California last night and we returned to a rainy night!! We had such a great time in Kentucky and West Virginia. I love spoiling the kids and grandkids! The leaves and scenery were amazing and we are so glad that we didn't miss the prettiest time of year! We lucked out with no snow the whole time we were gone so that made me happy. We did loose the electricity in Morgantown for a while but that meant we had to eat out again (Oh Darn!) I miss the little hugs and kisses and little faces waking me up in the morning!! It is so QUIET at the house and still so green. I leave for Utah on Wednesday so off I go again to spoil Kandis and Nic and see the rest of my family.

Learning to Blog in Kentucky

I thought you would like to see pictures of the house and the new overhang in the back of the house. The flowers are at their highest point and I have since pulled some out that have quit blooming. Otherwise this is how the house looks now. Hope you like!

What the $&#^%* am I doing???

O.K. I am trying to start a blog and have no idea what I am doing. I know I can do this but I have no idea if I am doing it the right way. Well, I will stop typing and see if this comes up on my new blog.
