First Signs of SPRING

You have to bear with me while I learn how to use my up close feature of my little camera!! (Thanks Mike for letting me know how to use it) I saw these California Poppies by Rusty's kennel and had to take a picture of them. They are such a vibrant color of orange in contrast to the green weeds!! These truly are one of the first wild flowers to burst open for spring.

I don't remember what this plant is called but I thought I took a pretty good picture of it!!
This one reminds me of the picture that Kandis bought for her apartment!! I just need a few more big ones in the picture.
These are the panseys that are in the backyard by the pool area. They have gone crazy with the warm weather and are really getting big and beautiful. They are really pretty next to the orange african daisy plant. Hope you enjoy. (This is actually a cheaper way to send all of you flowers!) Aren't I clever????

Treats from the lunch with Julie

Here are some of the goodies that I brought home from the lunch with Julie. Check out the cute little hat on the cupcake!! I already ate the one with the red hat on it. (Yum Yum) The little place cards had individual hats on them that she tried to match with our personalities!! The Hershey's cocoa bath soak is in remembrance of our trip to Hershey Pennsylvania and we had a spa treatment with a cocoa bath soak. You really wanted to eat the bubbles!! Thanks Julie for such a great time!! Your the Best Friend EVER!!! I can't wait to try the cocoa soak!

A GREAT week

This has been a fun and different week for us. First Steve and Nancy came into town to get some dental work done so we were honored to have them for Easter Sunday and then a few days more!! Their daughter in law Jessica (Lincolns wife) flew in on Sunday night and had her dental work done on Monday with the rest of them. What a fun time visiting and getting to catch up on all the goings on in the Scott household. Steve did have some difficulties with a root canal tooth that flared up so had to return from Reno to take another look and adjust the bite. Keep taking those antibiotics Steve and it will get better. We look forward to seeing Nancy and Jessica in 2 weeks to finish up the dental work!

I get a phone call on Tuesday morning from Julie Doolittle saying she will be in town and wanted to get together for lunch on Thursday. Whaa Hoo!! I just love seeing Julie and my good friends Debbie and Gwen and catching up on all the latest. It is hard to believe that we have all been friends for such a long time. (Close to 28 years) It is so fun talking and just being ourselves. Well, let me get back to the lunch that Julie put on for us. She is quite the hostess with the Mostess if you know what I mean. We had the most delicious food and the table setting was so darling. She made these wonderful cupcakes with little red hats and purple hats (yes, she made the hats herself) on top. I forgot my camera so I don't have pictures of the table setting but I am going to take some pictures of the cupcakes to try and post. What a great friend and always willing to do anything for any of us. I really love her so much!!

Friday was eventful because we started the process of changing the office counters. The granite was put in Jackie's office desk and instantly made a HUGE difference in that room. I wish we could have put granite in all of the office. Then the counters were taken out in the rest of the office and replaced with the corian. What a clean fresh new look. They will come back on Monday to finish the counters and then we will decide on painting the walls and touch up. The floors will be started on next weekend and that will be a really big job. They will probably have to take 2 weekends to finish it all up. We have to move so much stuff for them to get it all done. We will replace all the baseboards from carpet to wood so that is a huge job also. I will try and take some pics so you can all see the finished project. While we were at the office a couple of tom turkeys strutted up to the side door and back windows and it was really fun to see them alive so close.

Last night we took Mike and Christy out for Mike's birthday (yes his birthday was Tuesday but I work at the temple on Tuesday nights). We went to Chilis and of course could not resist the Chocolate Moulton Lava Cake for dessert!! We then went to see the movie "21" which was pretty good. I found it very interesting. I can't figure out the counting cards thing for myself but Mike and Dad seem to know exactly how they did it. I would say yes to seeing this movie but don't have to rush to see this movie if you know what I mean.

Dad is off turkey hunting this morning on some private land in Folsom. One of his patients lets him hunt deer and turkey on his property. It is opening day for the season so off he went. It rained last night and this morning so I am sure he will be all wet and dirty when he comes home. I don't know what we will do with the turkey if he gets one. I am not in the mood to cook a turkey!!

I will post the picture of the cupcake when my batteries are charged for my camera. Sorry for the delay!! You really need to see it.

Happy Easter

So here I am in my easter shoes. Don't you think they go great with this dress??? Glama for sure!!! All my friends loved the outfit. I led the choir and didn't fall over in my heels so all is good.!!

These eggs are naturally this color and are beautiful. I didn't have to take the time to die them. Just cooked them for the deviled eggs!! Rumor has it that this is what Martha Stewart used to develop her wall colors for her paint line!! Who knew???
Just a little picture of the table setting for the Easter feast. Quite festive if I say so myself. I used my china that I registered for when I got married in 1975. It still looks good!!
This is the group we had for Easter dinner. Mackean in the front next to grandpa Kelly then dad and then Nancy and Steve. I am taking the picture so I am not in the shot!! Food was great and we ended with strawberry shortcake since grandpa does not like anything chocolate. Grandpa Kelly brought down 2 loafs of home made bread and it was soooooooo good!!

Easter shoes

On Saturday I went to Macy's to buy some shoes for a new dress that I have. I had Christy and Mike with me because I had a special coupon for my extra 20% off and you all know that I never buy anything from Macy's without my coupons!! Well, they didn't have my shoes that I wanted so I was very sad. We walked the mall looking for a pair of yellow shoes, since that is the color that Kandis told me to wear with this dress. We checked all the other stores but could not find the perfect shoe. I went home and looked on-line at zappos and found the exact shoes that I was looking for. They are yellow with grey and a black heel!! Very hip!! Anyway I thought I would show you all how cool they are!! I also got a necklace to go with the dress to tie in the yellow. I am ready for Easter now and leading the ward choir. I just hope I don't fall over in these shoes!! I tend to move around a lot when I am conducting the choir. Happy Easter to you all and I hope you get a pair of new shoes to wear!!

More Baby Lambs!

New baby lambs were born Saturday morning. Another set of twins. A boy and a girl. They were much bigger than the first set of twins. Ann let me go out and she picked one up for me to take some pictures. They like Ann so they don't get too nervous when she is there. I wish the grandkids were here to get some pictures holding the lambs.

A night on the town

1st Picture is at Heavenly Village in downtown Tahoe. We ate at the buffett at one of the casinos and then walked around the shops. Sid looks good next to the bear!! Kind of a bigger one than we have at home!! The last one is where we had a fantastic dinner. We walked (Sid hobbled) down the street from Tahoe Seasons and had a wonderful dinner of lamb chops, salmon and a very tasty appetizer on flat bread. Very nice place.

Another try at Tahoe pictures

Iam going to try and add some more pictures of the Tahoe weekend if the Blog will let me.
The first one is Sid going up for his 1/2 day on gun barrell!! Notice the pretty mountains in the background. The second one is the special olympic races and part of gun barrell. It was such a beautiful day. The moguls were the size of VW bugs!!

A Great Tahoe Weekend

You can see Sid on his way back from a day of skiing by himself on the slopes of Heavenly. He had a great day and didn't injure himself at this point!! I'm looking out our window of our room to take this picture. We had a great view of the ski slopes at Heavenly. The weather was a little cloudy on Friday but Saturday was solid blue skies all day with no wind. Just BEAUTIFUL! I watched the special olympics compete on the slopes and Sid skied half day so he could tear up the moguls. The moguls tore him up instead!! He hobbled in at about 2:30 pm and said his back was bothering him! So much for skiing half day. He took a jacuzi and relaxed and then we went to dinner at a great place down the street. We really did have a good time even if he did injure his back. He put the TENS unit on it when we got home today and he is already doing better.

New baby lambs

Here they are!!

New Baby Lambs

This is the only picture that I could get of the baby lambs. There are two of them (twin girls) The little one that is lying down is very tiny and weak and we hope she will survive. The mother is taking really good care of them and is one of the nice mothers. They are so cute and cuddly and fun to watch. The other mother is about to have babies any day. I hope the grandkids like seeing these little lambs!! Spring is a wonderful time of year.

Fun Weekend

What a great time we had with Kandis and Nic. It was a busy weekend for them but the weather was beautiful and everything is green and warm!! We really packed a lot in while they were here. Picked them up Thursday afternoon and took them over to get their teeth cleaned. Went shopping and then out to Tahoe Joes for dinner that night. Friday they all went skiing with Terry Meinzer and went to Northstar where Sid had free passes. Saturday we went shopping again and then Nic and Kandis had the wedding thing to go to downtown. Top the weekend off with a Brian Regan comedy show and what more could you ask for???? What a great time. Oh, yeah, the sheep behind us had twins on Sunday afternoon. Two little black lambs. Soooooo cute to watch. I will try and post a picture if the mom sheep will let me get close enough. Thanks for the great weekend!! Fun times.
