Sunday I was released from my job as Relief Society President. I guess I should be happy but I am kind of sad. I was not expecting this at all and maybe that is why I am having a hard time with it. It is hard to turn off the caring and concern for the sisters in your ward over night!! I will miss the associations I have had with all the good people that I had an opportunity to work with but I will not miss all the meetings I had to attend!! I don't know what life will throw my way but only time will tell. I am a free woman for awhile so I should take advantage of it and go somewhere and visit someone!! I feel a trip coming on!!

Birthday Boy!! Sid's 54th
Sid turned 54 today and we had a fun night last night with friends. We went to dinner with John and Julie Doolittle, Jon and Debbie Burgess and Jay and Gwen Sessions. We went to Outback because Sid wanted Steak!! We then saw the movie "Bucket List" and afterwards went to the Doolittles for some funny presents that Jay aquired at the dollar store (Hence, the weird hat your father is wearing!) We had such a great time and the movie was just great. I would give it two thumbs up for sure. Bring the kleenex though, or maybe I am just a crying fool!!
We have been busy this week with trying to pick new things for the dental office remodel and hope we don't blow it with our latest choices. We are going for laminate wood flooring in the operatories and carpet in the halls and Sid's office, and Jackies office only. The lab and sterilization rooms will have laminate tile and the counters will be corian solid surface with intigrated sinks. We seem to be drawn to the black brown and ivory colors so even though I wanted blues again Sid seems to like the other choices better with the wood floors. I am going to take some samples into the office this week and see what the girls say. We will probably still do granite tops in Sids office and Jackies office. Wood laminate will be behind the reception desk and file room. With all the new flooring done in commercial laminate it should be a breeze to keep clean. The granite just wouldn't work in the operatories since it is a pourous counter. The corian won't penetrate anything. I will try and take a picture of some of our choices and show you what we are thinking.
It is still hard to believe that Sid is actually 54. Next year he will officially qualify for the senior discount!! That means I am not far behind. We are thinking of buying a pair of Kayaks and start rowing around here. The average age of the kayaker is 65! I guess we have a few years to catch up. We got the theater seats at Costco the other day but have not put them upstairs yet. They are black leather with motorized recliners and cup holders. We have three seats right now and will see if we can fit in another grouping of 3. It will be fun to get that room done.
Kristin, I think you win for the funniest card so far. You really found the perfect one!!

Happy New Year 2008
New Years eve was a normal day for us. We took Rusty for a walk to see the horses and then went around looking at projectors for the movie room and furniture for the movie room. That is how we ended up at Costco and buying steaks and lobster for dinner!!! Yum Yum. I can't believe it is 2008 already. So much has happened in 2007. We now have 6 wonderful kids married to 6 wonderful spouses and have 6 wonderful grandkids and number 7 on the way!! What more can a person ask for??? I guess I could ask for them to all live in the same state!! You all live so far away now and we will have to make some arrangements far in advance to see all of you this next year. We have so much to be grateful for and all of our kids are on the top of the list. I hope you find a lot of new adventures this coming year and hopefully it will be full of good things!! Love to all!
