A Day in the Country

Friday was a beautiful day so we decided to go to Indiana to Huber Farms. This is a 400 acre farm that has acres and acres of u-pick produce and hayrides out to the farm to pick. It was so wonderful to be outdoors and see how beautiful this farm was. This is Alexis with the kids out in front of the ice cream parlor and cheese shop. We had ice cream after we had our picnic and picked our produce. Really yummy stuff. It's not every day you can sit on a fake cow!!!
Here is Josh and Alexis with the kids in one of those "corny" head thingies!! They had several of these around the grounds but I only put this one in because it was of everyone!
Here we all are picking the golden delicious apples. The wind put a lot of the apples on the ground but there were still a lot on the trees. We picked golden delicious and red delicious apples and then picked broccoli and then tomatoes. You name it, they have it at this farm. Quite the spread of things to pick and so much fun to show the kids how these things are grown. We had a picnic after picking by the ponds and fed the fish and ducks. They also have a play area that you can pay to get into and let the kids run wild. What a great day trip and so much fun. Thanks guys for taking me there!! We did have to buy a caramel nut apple pie and some white chocolate raspberry bread at the country store that they have. There were so many good things to buy it was hard to decide. (How come everything centers around food???)

Looks like you had a fun time in Kentucky! Your head should have been in the watermelon for that picture :)

I just commented on Alexis' blog about how jealous I am of all the fun stuff they have to do out in Kentucky. They're always experiencing something new and fun out there as a family. I love it!!!
